The course is designed for personnel who will have an introduction to potentially explosive areas, markings, equipment and requirements. The participants will receive an introduction according to relevant parts of NEK 420, IEC 60079 standard (NEK EN 60079 standards) as well as national adaptations. The course is according to NFEA EX-KOMP:2021
The recommended maximum time for evaluating competence is 5 years
The participants' learning objectives are to have an understanding of:
- The general principles of explosion protection
- Site eligibility
- Gas groups and the relationship between area and equipment
- Temperature classes and the relationship between area and equipment
- The general principles of type protection and marking
